Wojciech “Wojtek” Wolski is a Polish Canadian professional ice hockey player. He was born in Zabrze, Poland and now plays for the Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League. Wolski went to St. Michael's College School and played for the Buzzers hockey team in 2001-02. He was a member of the Ontario Hockey League's Brampton Battalion before he made it to the Avalanche roster. He got the award for the OHL Most Valuable Player in 2006. He was also the player of the month for 4 consecutive months. In the 2003 Canada Winter Games, he was an alternate captain for Ontario. After a year, he was voted Player of the Game with Team Cherry for Canadian Hockey League (CHL) Top Prospects Game in 2004. He was drafted by the Colorado Avalanche in the 1st round, 21st overall in the 2004 NHL Draft and appeared on his first game against the New York Rangers in the 2006 playoffs. As part of the 55th NHL All-Star Games in 2007, he played in the NHL Young Stars Game held in Dallas, Texas. He was traded to the Phoenix Coyotes for Peter Mueller and Kevin Porter on March 3, 2010. Right after 3 months, he signed another 2-year contract with the Coyotes. He currently has a record of 320 games played, 79 goals, 132 assists, and 211 points.
