After his stint with the Steelers, he joined the New York Yankees where he spent the majority of his playing career. He also became part of the Los Angeles Dodgers which he joined in 1989 and has played for the Oakland Athletics in the 1990 season. His last team in the MLB was the Milwaukee Brewers which he joined in 1991. After he retired from playing, he worked as a coach and a manager for a few MLB teams which include the New York Mets and the Milwaukee Brewers.
