Turner Ward is a former American professional baseball player. He was born in Orlando, Florida graduated from the University of South Alabama. Ward played as outfielder for numerous teams in the Major League Baseball; the Cleveland Indians, Toronto Blue Jays, Milwaukee Brewers, Pittsburgh Pirates, Arizona Diamondbacks and the Philadelphia Phillies. Ward was listed at 6 ft. 2 in. and 200 lb. He both batted and threw with his right. He started his professional career after he was drafted by the New York Yankees of the Major League Baseball during the 1986 amateur draft where he was the eighteenth round pick of the team. Though drafted by the Yankees, Ward was not able to make his debut with the team. Instead, he was traded along with Joel Skinner for Mel Hall of the Cleveland Indians on March 1989 and made his debut with the Indians on September 10, 1990 playing for only one season. After which he was traded, with fellow Indian Tom Candiotti , to the Toronto Blue Jays on June 1991 in exchange for Mark Whiten, Denis Boucher and Glenallen Hill. Ward played for three seasons with the Blue Jays until 1993 before joining the Milwaukee Brewers for another three seasons until 1996. On April 1997, Ward, signed as free agent with the Pittsburgh Pirates. As a member of the Pittsburgh Pirates, Ward was memorable in 1998 for breaking through the right field wall at Three Rivers Stadium while chasing a fly ball.
