Trevor Ruffin is a retired professional basketball player. He was born on September 26, 1970 in Buffalo, New York. He finished his secondary education in Bennett and went to college to the University of Hawaii where he spent his collegiate basketball career. Ruffin started his professional career when he signed as an undrafted free agent with the Los Angeles Lakers in July 21, 1994. Just a few months later, he was released by the Lakers and then was signed by the Phoenix Suns on November 11 the same year. During the 1995 National Basketball Association Expansion Draft, he was selected by then Vancouver Grizzlies. By December the same year, he was signed as a free agent by the Philadelphia 76ers. Less than a year later, he was released. He then played for the American Basketball Association's Buffalo Rapids/ Silverbacks until 2005 when he was released due to injury. He then returned November 2006 as replacement for head coach Richard Jacob. Ruffin was famous for giving instant offense as soon as he got off the bench. He did this though he started only 24 out of his 110 career NBA games. He retired with an average of 9.2 points, 2.9 assists, and 1.4 rebounds per game.
