A powerful outfielder in the Major League Baseball, Torii Kedar Hunter was born on July 18, 1975 in Pine Buff, Arkansas. He started playing in the major league after being drafted by the Minnesota Twins. He played his very first Major League Baseball game on August 22, 1977 for the Twins. Before he made his Major League Baseball debut, he played high school baseball at Pine Buff High School. In 1999, he started playing regularly in the major league and became a popular player by 2000. He led the Twins in at-bats and assists in 2001. In 2002, he was picked for his first All-Star Game as a center field. However, he had an injury in 2005 which made him miss most of the season but hit his career high 31st home run in the next season, 2006. After his stint with the Twins, he played for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim where he took Gary Matthews' place as a center fielder. In 2009, the Sporting News named him as the 44th Greatest Player in the current time. On June 13, 2009, he hit three home runs in a single game which he did for the very first time. He won nine Gold Glove Awards as an outfielder and he had his ninth Gold Glove on November 10, 2009. He also bagged a Silver Slugger award that year with his .299 batting average and 23 home runs. Hunter was also able to have three grand slams in the 2007 season.
