Sterling Hitchcock Autographs
Sterling Hitchcock is a retired professional baseball player who appeared in the Major League Baseball from 1992 to 2004. Hitchcock, who was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina, occupied the pitcher position in the MLB. Hitchcock is a leftie, batting and throwing using his left hand. Throughout his stay in the MLB, Hitchcock was able to play for the New York Yankees and the San Diego Padres. Unlike other players, Hitchcock was not able to play collegiate baseball because he was drafted out of high school during the 1989 amateur draft by the New York Yankees. Hitchcock was a ninth round pick of the Yankees. After playing for a couple of seasons in the minors, Hitchcock was able to break in with the Yankees team during the 1992 season but only got to pitch in three games. He was able to see more game time starting from the 1993 season and had a career high ERA of 3.93 during the 1998 season while playing for the San Diego Padres. For his performance for that season, Hitchcock was named as the National League Champions Series MVP. Rejoining the Yankees in the 2001 season, Hitchcock helped the team win Game 5 of that season's World Series.
