Roy Rogers Jr. was born on August 19, 1973 and raised in Linden, Alabama. He is a former National Basketball Association basketball player at the power forward position. With an imposing height of 6'9'' and weight of 235 lbs., during the NBA Draft in 1996, he was chosen as the 22nd overall pick by the Vancouver Grizzlies. Rogers played college basketball at the University of Alabama. He spent 4 years in the National Basketball Association from 1996 to 2000. During each of those years, he played for 4 different teams. He first started out with the Grizzlies in 1996, and was transferred to the Boston Celtics in 1997. His career followed him to the Toronto Raptors in 1998, and he finally ended his NBA career with the Denver Nuggets in 1999. Final professional appearances of Rogers was in Poland in 2003. Since then, Rogers has been helping assist various teams at coaching positions. In the NBA Development League, he served as an assistant coach for the Tulsa 66ers and the Austin Torros. He also acted as head coach in 2005 for the Albuquerque Thunderbirds, which was named the Huntsville Flight at the time.
