Rodney Ray Rogers is originally from Durham, North Carolina and is a retired American basketball player for the National Basketball Associations' Philadelphia 76ers as a power forward. Rogers went to Hillside High School in Durham , where he was branded as the “Durham Bull” for his basketball skills. He was named the North Carolina Player of the Year in 1990, and displayed expert skills while still in high school. During college, Rogers played 4 seasons for Wake Forest University, and was awarded the Rookie of the Year in 1990-1991 season, above Grant Hill . He also received the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year in 1993. From his performance level in college, sources say that Rogers was to be a excellent choice for any team who signs him. He was the number 9 pick in the first round of the NBA Draft in 1993, and was signed on to play for the Denver Nuggets. Rogers spent 12 years in the NBA playing for different teams along the way. His longest stint was with the Los Angeles Clippers where he played for 4 successful seasons during the early 2000's and was awarded NBA's Sixth Man of the Year. Due to a dirt bike accident back in 2008, Rogers unfortunately suffered severe injuries leaving him paralyzed from the shoulders down.
