Phil Gagliano is a retired professional baseball player. He appeared in the Major League Baseball from 1963 to 1974. He went to Christian Brothers High School in Tennessee and played alongside Tim Carver and Mike Shannon who both become his teammates in the Cardinals. He played for the St. Louis Cardinals for his first seven seasons in the league. He was with the Cardinals when he was able to play in a total of 122 games for the 1965 season. He was also able to hit eight homeruns. He posted a 53 RBI by the end of that season. The Gagliano was with the Cardinals when the team got their 1964 and 1967 World Series titles. Gagliano was a dependable utility player while he was with the Cardinals and, later on, with the Chicago Cubs. Gagliano decided to play for the Cubs in 1970. Gagliano played for the Boston Red Sox in 1970 until 1973. Gagliano successfully transformed himself into being a pinch-hitter for the Red Sox. He had a batting average of .354 while he was with the Red Sox. Gagliano signed with the Cincinnati Reds in 1973. As a pinch-hitter for the Reds, Gagliano recorded a batting average of .366.
