Born on September 23, 1980, Michael Frederick Gosling is a former Major League Baseball player who is simply known as Mike Gosling. He entered Major League Baseball when he was selected by Minnesota Twins in round 14 of the Major League Baseball draft in 1998. Although he was already signed by the Twins, he opted to continue and finish his college education at Stanford University. According to a range of reviews, his true Major League Baseball debut was in 2001 with the Arizona Diamondbacks. He was signed by the team and played his first major league game on September 9, 2004. In his very first season with the team, he appeared in six games and made an earned run average of 4.62. In 2005, he played for the D-backs and Tucson Sidewinders, the Triple-A affiliate of the Diamondbacks. Gosling played for Cincinnati Reds in 2006, appearing only once with the said team. Like his second season with the D-backs, he also spent 2007 with both the Reds and Louisville Bats, the team's Triple-A affiliate. He made an earned run average of 3.67 with Toronto Blue Jays' affiliate, Syracuse in 2008. At the end of the season, he chose to be a free agent. He became part of the Minnesota Twins in 2009 after signing a minor league contract with the team. After being released by the Twins, he signed with Cleveland Indians.
