Melvin Earl Roach or simply Mel Roach born on January 25, 1933 in Richmond, Virginia. He was an infielder who threw right and batted with his right hand also. He made his MLB debut in the year1953 playing with the Milwaukee Braves . He played with only three teams during his career and he made a record of .228 AVG, 33 RBI and 119 hits. First is the Milwaukee Braves in the years, 1953-1954 and 1957-1961. Second is the Chicago Cubs in the year 1961. After a year, he was in the Philadelphia Phillies . He was able to be an asset for the wins of his team especially in the National League with the Milwaukee Braves in 44 games. He was an infielder – outfielder. He had also been part of Wichita Braves. Once, he had been injured in his knees but it did not stop him from pursuing his career. He played a total of 227 games and he made 499 bats. He also had nine sacrifice hits along with twenty five doubles, twenty four walks and a stolen base. When he officialy stopped playing, he went back to Richmond, Virginia and now, he changed his profession from being a player to a vice president of a bank. Meanwhile, during the Korean War, he became one of the United States' navies. But this only lasted for more than a year because he went back to being a player.
