Luke Richardson is a former National Hockey League player who was born on March 26, 1969 in Ontario. He was a seventh overall selection of the Toronto Maple Leafs in the National Hockey League Draft in the 1987 season. Before he made it to the National Hockey League team, he played in the Ontario Hockey League for the Peterborough Petes. He spent four seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs before he joined the Edmonton Oilers. According to reviews, he did not score much point but was known to be great at defense. He also became part of the Columbus Blue Jackets with which he worked as a captain. He had his last season with the team in the 2005-2006 seasons. He then played for the Tampa Bay Lightning for the 2006-2007 seasons and logged 3 assists in 27 games he played that season. In 2008, he became a nominee for the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy which was given to Jason Blake. He signed with the Ottawa Senators again in the 2008 season and finally went to retirement on November 27, 2008. After that season, he was named as the assistant coach of the team.
