Larry Playfair is a former National Hockey League player who came from British Columbia. He is a left shooter who played as part of the defense for the national league teams he played for. He was drafted in the National Hockey League Draft in 1974 and played for the Buffalo Sabres. According to reviews, he is a very hardworking part of the defense and impressed many fans for his wonderful plays in the field. Before he proceeded to have his National Hockey League career, he spent a few seasons in the minor leagues. He was part of the Portland Winter Hawks which is a Western Hockey League team. After his first few rookie seasons with the Sabres, he joined the Los Angeles Kings, which became his last team in the league. He retired after the 1990 season due to his chronic back pains and after his playing career, worked as a broadcaster for a few television programs. His brother, Jim Playfair, was also a former National Hockey League player and had a number of similarities in their careers. But, compared to Larry who had 688 games in the NHL, Jim only managed to play in 21 games. Larry is the current president of the Sabres Alumni Association.
