Kirk Haston was born on March 10, 1979 in Lobelville, Tennessee. He formerly played for the National Basketball Association teams Charlotte Hornets and Florida Flames and other basketball leagues. He graduated from Perry County High School in Tennessee and was part of the Class A Championship. He was awarded the “Mr. Basketball” of the Class A teams. In college, he played for the Indiana University where he was coached by Bob Knight and Mike Davis. He was a Big-Ten leader in scores during the 2000-2001 seasons. Because of his somewhat programmed moves in the court, he was often called “The Machine”. One of the greatest performances on court was during a game against the Michigan State where he hit a 3 point shot that made his team win by 59-58 score. He went into professional basketball after the 2001 NBA Draft where he was picked as 16th overall by the Charlotte Hornets. He played for the Florida Flames in the 2004-2005 seasons in the NBA D-League where he made 16 points average and had 1.2 blocks per game.
