Born on January 27, 1971 in San Leandro, California, Kenneth Paul Huckaby is a former Major League Baseball catcher who bats and throws with his right hand. He made his Major League Baseball debut on October 6, 2001 for the Arizona Diamondbacks. After a one-year stint with the Diamondbacks, he went to play for the Toronto Blue Jays for the 2002-2003 seasons and in the 2005 season. In 2003, Huckaby had an infamous injury which he obtained after a collision with Derek Jeter of the New York Yankees. His shoulder was displaced and he had to be brought to the club house to repair the injury. He was listed among the disabled players for six weeks which made him miss 36 games in the season. In 2004, Huckaby joined the Texas Rangers and the Baltimore Orioles. He spent the 2006 season with the Boston Red Sox. He played in the Major League Baseball for the last time on September 27, 2006 for the Red Sox and recorded .222 batting average for his entire major league career. He had 31 runs batted in and 3 home runs in the league. He signed a minor league deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers and played for seven seasons for the Las Vegas 51s. He also played for the Kansas City Royals minor league team and was released by the team on May 10, 2008.
