Formerly, he played for the Major League Baseball teams New York Mets and the Kansas City Royals. Born on July 1, 1982 in Melbourne, Australia, he attended Bacon Hill College in Australia. He was drafted to play in the Major League Baseball in the 2000 MLB amateur draft by the New York Mets. Huber had his first Major League Baseball appearance on June 21, 2005 for the Kansas City Royals, which signed him after being traded by the New York Mets before the trade limit in 2004. He was sent to the team in exchange for Jose Bautista. However, he had an injury in the 2004 season which made him undergo a surgery. The said injury affected his catching skills and so played as a first baseman in his major league debut. On September 17, 2007, he played as an outfielder for the first time for the Kansas City Royals. In 2008, Huber was traded to the San Diego Padres, with which he made his very first career home run on April 20, 2008. After the 2008 season, he went to free agency.
