Jose Vidro is a former Puerto Rican professional baseball player. He was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. Vidro studied high school at Blanca Morales in Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico. Vidro played as second baseman for a few teams in the major league; the Montreal Expos, Washington Nationals and the Seattle Mariners . Vidro made several achievements during his pro career in the major league; he became a three time selection for All-Star Games and he was a Silver Slugger Award winner in 2003. Vidro stands 5 ft. 11 in. and weighing in at 175 lbs. He batted with both hands and threw using his right. He started his professional baseball career after he was drafted by the Montreal Expos during the 1992 amateur draft where he was the sixth round pick of the team. Vidro then formally signed June 2, 1992. He made his professional debut with the Expos on June 8, 1997. After playing for eight seasons with the Expos, Vidro joined the Washington Nationals in 2005, playing for two seasons until 2006. And on December 18, 2006, Vidro was dealt by the Nationals to the Seattle Mariners in exchange for Emiliano Fruto and Chris Snelling . Vidro had his final game with the Mariners on August 4, 2008.
