Joe Pepitone Autographs
Joseph Anthony Pepitone was a Major League Baseball first man and outfielder for the Atlanta Braves in 1973, Chicago Cubs in 1970-73, Houston Astros in 1970 and New York Yankees for 1962-1969. Born in Brooklyn, New York on October 09, 1940, he batted and threw left-handed, debuted on April 10, 1962 for the New York Yankees and had his last appearance in MLB on May 25, 1973 for the Atlanta Braves. Better known as “Joe Pepitone”, he was signed by the New York Yankees as an amateur free agent in 1958. He played four seasons in the minor leagues, playing behind Moose Skowron at first base and then broke into the Yankees in 1962. He arrived at the Yankees spring training in Fort Lauderdale with a new car, a new dog and a new shark-skin suit. Pepitone is one of the baseball players which were compensated well. During his baseball career, the Yankee management strongly agreed that he could handle the first base position. As for the record, he responded, hitting .271 with 27HR and 89 RBI and went on to win 3 Gold Gloves. Despite the fact that he made a notorious error in the 1963 World Series, the ever popular Joe Pepitone remained a fixture throughout the decade and even playing center field after having bad knees. For three consecutive years, 1963, 1964 and 1965, he was a member of the American League All-Star team. For the best moments of baseball games, nothing is ever as enjoyable watching it with MLB bobbleheads and figures. Standing in the crowd and screaming while wearing MLB apparel would be one of your greatest moments.
