Reardon was born on October 01, 1955 in Dalton, Massachusetts and played college baseball for the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He batted and threw right-handed and became the all time saves leader in MLB in 1992. The Terminator, Reardon, played for couples of teams in baseball league like the New York Mets in 1979-1981, Montreal Expos in 1981-1986 and Minnesota Twins in 1987-1989. He also played for the Boston Red Sox in 1990-1992, Atlanta Braves in 1992, Cincinnati Reds in 1993 and New York Yankees in 1994. As he pursues his baseball career, he signed a contract with the New York Mets in the minor league in 1977. Before he was traded to the Montreal Expos, he made his Major League debut with the Mets as a pitcher in 1979 until 1981. After the season, he was traded to the Minnesota Twins placing the team in victory in the World Series in 1979. In 1989, Reardon signed with the Boston Red Sox. In honor of his signing, an athletic field was named after him in his birth town in Dalton, Massachusetts. After playing for the Atlanta Braves , he pitched for the Cincinnati Reds and New York Yankees. He made up his mind to stop playing baseball and retired in 1994. He was awarded NL Rolaids Relief Man of the Year in 1985; with saves of 367, he is presently ranks 7th on the All-Time Saves List.
