Gregory Scott Gilbert is a former head coach for Toronto Marlies, a team in the American Hockey League. Born on January 22, 1962 in Mississauga, Ontario, he is also a former professional ice hockey player. Among the teams he played for during his hockey playing career were New York Islanders, New York Rangers and Chicago Blackhawks. He also became a player for St. Louis Blues. He was drafted to the National Hockey League in 1980 for the team Chicago Blackhawks, ranking 80th overall. Stands 6 ft. 1 in. and weighs 195 lbs., he is left shooter and played in a left wing position. He spent sixteen seasons in National Hockey League before he became a head coach of several teams. He was also a head coach of Worcesters IceCats of the American Hockey League and in the Ontario Hockey League for the team Mississauga IceDogs. Reviews say he is the only player to bag a Stanley Cup with both New York teams in the history of professional hockey. he was able to accomplish the feat in 1982 and 1983 for the New York Islanders and in 1994 for the New York Rangers.
