Grant Henry Hill is a National Basketball Association player who currently plays as a small forward for the Phoenix Suns. He was born on October 5, 1972 in Dallas, Texas. Son of National Football League star Calvin Hill, he played high school basketball at South Lakes High School. Although his father and his mother, Janet Hill, did not have the same opinion as to where Grant must attend college, they accepted Grant's choice to go neutral and go to Duke University. He played for the Duke Blue Devils and received much recognition as a player. Standing at 6 ft. 8 in. and weighing 225 lbs., he was considered as one of the Devils' great players. He started his professional career after he was picked by the Detroit Pistons during the first round of the 1994 NBA Draft. He spent six years with the Pistons and in 2000, he joined the Orlando Magic. In 2007, he signed with the Phoenix Suns with which he currently serves as a small forward. An often leader in points and assists, he was NBA co-Rookie of the Year in 1995 and is a seven-time NBA All-Star selection. He is also a three-time NBA Sportsmanship Award recipient. As of the 2009-2010 seasons, he played 868 games and holds a PPG average of 17.8.
