Gary Gregor is a retired professional basketball player for the National Basketball Association. He was born in Charleston, West Virginia and went on to attend the University of South Carolina. He crossed over to playing professional basketball after he was signed by the Phoenix Suns in the 1968 NBA Draft. He was selected during the first round and was the eighth overall pick. He was able to play with the Phoenix Suns for one season. During his rookie season in the NBA, he was able to come up with 11.1 ppg average. He was also named into the 1968-69 NBA All-Rookie team. During the next season, Gregor was traded to the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for Paul Silas. During his run with Atlanta, Gregor was able to come up with an 8.1 ppg average. He also made his first playoffs appearance with the Hawks. After playing in seven games, he was able to post a 2.3 ppg average. In 1970, Gregor was traded to the Portland Trailblazers and stayed with the team until 1972. In 1970, he posted a 9.6 ppg. Gregor improved and posted an 11.1 ppg average in 1971.
