Fernando Rodney Autographs
Fernando Rodney , originally from Samara, Dominican Republic, is currently a relief pitcher in the MLB with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. He was 25 years old when he made his major league debut, playing for both the Triple-A Toledo Mud Hens and the Detroit Tigers from 2002 to 2005. Rodney was called up to active duty with the Tigers in 2005 when their closer, Troy Pervical, went to the injured list, and their backup closer, Kyle Farnsworth , was traded to the Atlanta Braves. It was during this time that Rodney was able to demonstrate his pitching skills. In the 2006 season, three of the Tiger's pitchers hit a record by each throwing pitches above 100 mph all in the same game. The three pitchers were Justin Verlander , Joel Zumaya, and Rodney. Rodney continued to play an important role as closer in 2007, though he began to have bicep and shoulder problems. In 2008, Rodney found himself on the injured list with shoulder tendinitis. As a free-agent closer, he signed an $11 million dollar contract with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim on Christmas Eve in 2009. Rodney is currently preparing for a game between the Angels, and his former club, the Tigers. Rodney's previous manager, Jim Leyland, had only great things to say about him, and is quoted saying that “He (Rodney) was something else. He was greatly appreciated”. Rodney signed on with the Angels on the hopes that they go all the way to the World Series this season. Framed MLB photos and plaques are an excellent way to décor your home office.
