Glanville was an outfielder when he was still in the league and has played for the Chicago Cubs, the Philadelphia Phillies and the Texas Rangers. He attended Teaneck High School and grew up with Lawrence Frank of the New Jersey Nets. Glanville decided to attend the University of Pennsylvania. Only five graduates of the university have made it all the way to the MLB. Glanville was drafted by the Chicago Cubs and made his first MLB appearance in 1996. He was traded to the Philadelphia Phillies in 1998. During that season, he was the frontrunner in the National League for in at-bats. During the 1999 season, Glanville was again a leader in the National League but this time for % of stolen bases and singles. In 2003, Glanville signed back with the Cubs and was part of the team when it went all the way to the 2003 National League Championships.
