Orville Inman Veal, better known as Coot Veal was born on July 9, 1932 in Sandersville, Georgia. He is a former player in the Major League Baseball. He played mostly as a shortstop and he was first signed by the Detroit Tigers in the 1952 season. After playing with the Detroit Tigers , he also played with the Washington Senators in the American League in the year 1960. He was the first player to be the batter in the Washington Senators' history. In the year 1961, he led the team to win even if he was opposed by the Hall of Famer Early Winn from the Chicago White Sox. He also had four games where he had 3 hits and an excellent player in a double against tha Washington Senators. He also went against All Star player Camilo Pascual in 1958 but still managed to play the game amazingly. He also had a home run against Billy Pierce, another All Star player in the year 1959 in the Biggs Staduim. The event was witnessed by 34, 417 people and he instantly became the crowd favorite. He also hit a .333 against Whitey Ford , also an All Star player. He was a very great shortstop but his bats are relatively weak. During his entire career, he made a final record of .231 average, .288 slugging percentage and 75 runs.
