Christopher Jon Widger, born in May 21, 1971 in Wilmington, Delaware, was a former Major League Baseball catcher. He was the third round pick in the 1992 Major League Baseball Draft. He played for the Seattle Mariners, Montreal Expos, New York Yankees, St Louis Cardinals, Chicago White Sox and lastly with the Baltimore Orioles. He attended and played for the Pennsville Memorial High School in Pennsville Township, New Jersey. At George Mason University, he played as the outfielder but also played first and third base. His debut as a professional baseball player started in June 23, 1995 for the Seattle Mariners . Widger played 9 years in the Major League Baseball with seven different teams. On July 23, 2006 he was placed by the White Sox into the waiver list after acquiring Sandy Alomar Jr. to replace him as the team backup catcher. On August 4, 2006 Chris signed with the Orioles for the remaining games in the 2006 season. His last MLB appearance was in September 15, 2006.
