Chico Walker an American former professional baseball player. He played as second baseman for several teams in the Major League Baseball throughout his thirteen year career from 1980 to 1993; the Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, California Angels and the New York Mets. Chico Walker was born Cleotha Walker on November 25, 1957 in Jackson, Mississippi. Chico Walker is the uncle of National Basketball Association player Antoine Walker . Chico Walker graduated from Tilden High School in Chicago, Illinois. Walker stands at 5 ft. 9 in. and weighs 170 lbs. He batted with both hands and threw using his right. Walker started his professional baseball career after he was drafted by the Boston Red Sox during the 1976 amateur draft where he was a twenty second round pick of the team. Four years after the draft, Walker made his professional debut on September 2, 1980. After his four season career with the Red Sox, Walker signed as free agent with the Chicago Cubs on November 9, 1984. And after three seasons, he was traded for Todd Fischer of the California Angels on October 1987. Walker, once again, signed with the Cubs in 1991 only to be waivered by the New York Mets in 1992. His final game was held on October 3, 1993. After his retirement, Walker had played in 526 Games, having 299 Hits with 17 Home Runs, 116 RBIs and .246 Batting Average.
