Brian Paul Engblom is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman and a current ice hockey broadcaster. He was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens 22nd overall in the 1975 NHL Entry Draft from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Larry Robinson holds the team record for points by a defenceman. He played his first NHL games with Montreal in the 1977 Stanley Cup playoffs. In 1982, he was traded along with Doug Jarvis, Rod Langway and Craig Laughlinr, to the Washington Capitals in exchange for Rick Green and Ryan Walter. After one season, he was again traded with Ken Houston to the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for the then will-be Hall of Famer Larry Murphy. He played eleven NHL seasons throughout his career, finishing with 29 goals and 177 assists. For his broadcasting career, he was ESPN's studio analyst and color commentator from 1992-93 and 2003-04 and currently handles both jobs in Versus.
