One of the players of Philadelphia Flyers in 1970, Kelly was an aggressive left-winger who became a member of the famous Broad Street Bullies. Bob Kelly was one of the players of the Flyers who contributed to their two consecutive Stanley Cup championships in 1974 and 1975. Along with teammate Dave Schultz, Kelly was one of the team's top contributors to these successes. Kelly scored the 1975 cup winning goal at 11 seconds into the 3rd period of game 6. He was with the Flyers until the 1979–80 National Hockey League seasons when he was then traded to the Washington Capitals. He then played with the Capitals until the middle of the 1981–82 season.
