Bo Porter, born as Marquis Porter, was a former professional baseball player who currently works as a coach in the Major League Baseball. He began his Major League Baseball career in 1993 after being drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the Major League Baseball draft in 1993. Before joining the league, he played college baseball at University of Iowa, where he made school records and began exhibiting his great skills. He had his Major League Baseball debut on May 9, 1999 for the Chicago Cubs. After his first season with the Cubs, he was claimed by the Oakland Athletics. After his stint with the Athletics, he joined the Texas Rangers and after his successful stint with the Rangers, he became a free agent. The Texas Rangers became his last major league team and afterwards, he appeared mostly in the minor league for the Colorado Rockies and the Atlanta Braves. After his professional playing career, he went to coaching in the minor league. After the 2006 season, he worked for the Florida Marlins as a coach for the third base and also as an instructor for base running from 2007 to 2009 season.
