Ahmad Rashad is a former National Football League player who is now popular as a sportscaster working mainly for the NBC network. He played high school football at Mount Tahoma High School and spent his college career at University of Oregon . He played as a wide receiver in the said university and was included to the All-American team in the 1971 season. He was later on honored for his remarkable college career by being named to the College Football Hall of Fame in 2007. Rashad was born as Robert Earl Moore but upon his conversion to the Islam religion, he changed his name to Ahmad Rashad. He started his professional football career after he was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the National Football League Draft. He had a stellar pro football career and logged 495 passes and scored 44 touchdowns in his entire playing career. According to many reviews, he had his finest season in his career in December of the 1980 season when he recorded a 28-23 win for the Minnesota Vikings . He also played for the Buffalo Bills which he signed in 1974 and the Seattle Seahawks which he joined in 1976. He had four Pro Bowl participation from the 1978 to the 1981 season. After he retires from professional football, he began his broadcasting career by working in the coverage of NFL games as well as some NBA games.
