Aaron Lee Williams hails from Cleveland, Ohio and is an American professional boxer. His nickname is “Awesome” and currently is in the cruiserweight division. With an orthodox stance, he has a record of 19 wins, 13 of which are KO, 2 losses, and 1 draw. Williams trained under the coaching of Emanuel Steward for 3 years and set a 90- 8 win- loss record. He won the Silver Glove 4 times in different weight classes. He also bagged the National Police Athletic League Champion and is a 2- time National Jr. Olympic Champion. He barely defeated Matt Godfrey 3 times, and fought against Charles Ellis. In a fight against Devin Vargas in the 2003 Olympic Trials, Williams was able to hit Vargas with a body shot before finally losing, thus winning the bronze medal instead. He turned pro at the cruiserweight division at Classic Entertainment & Sports, Inc., starting under the tutelage of Jesse Reid before being trained by Eddie Mustafa Muhammad. His most noted fights so far are his win against popular Zach Page and Charles Davis. He fought against Deleon Tisley and won in a 2nd round knockout and was therefore given ESPN's Play of the Day. Both in 2008, Williams fought veteran Andre Purlette and was defeated by relatively unknown Jose Luis Herrera. After this defeat, Williams fought and won 2 more fights before he was outpointed by Yoan Pablo Hernandez.
